My Grampy

Here is the cutest, sweetest man in the world! This is my Grampy! We have a special bond. Besides being the youngest grandchild, we share a birthday! Yup, I was born on my Grampy's birthday! I remember hearing the stories of the day I was born. My grandparents were visiting for Gramp's birthday. It was in the morning and my mom went into labor. My dad just sat there and drank his orange juice. My Grammy looked at my dad and told him to get moving. She couldn't believe he was just sitting there! My parents left for the hospital. When my Grampy came down for breakfast my Grammy told him that my mom was in labor. He got a grin on his face and said "It's my birthday!"
I have so many wonderful memories of spending time with him. I remember when my grandparents would come and visit us in the summer, when I lived in New York. We had a pool and we loved swimming with Grampy! He would come out of the house and say "The Grandfather is here!" We would squeal with excitement! We would rough house with him and he kept right up with us! I have no idea how.
I love hearing my Grampy's stories. He was in World War II. He tells us stories of the war, growing up in the '30s and '40s, how he and my Grammy met and the fact he only knew her for three months before he proposed!
My Grampy will be 84 in April! He is still going strong. He just got back from a cruise in Hawaii. He has now been to all 50 states! Hawaii was his last state. I can't wait to see him. He should be visiting us in April. I treasure every moment I get to spend with him. He is an amazing, strong man and I love him very much!

Girls Night at the Cabin

Friday night we had a girls night out. We went to Kathi's cabin. We went to Tony's for dinner, then on to the cabin for a night of fun and laughter. We sang karaoke, played games, and relaxed. Angela had fun singing "I'm Too Sexy" and showing us her "moves." Christie had "growing" pains. We had fun playing Mad Gab. Definately a fun game!

I love getting together with the girls! It is always much needed therapy! I missed those of you that were unable to attend! I am looking forward to next time we go to the cabin!

Here are a few of the pictures.

The Conference

I had such a wonderful time this weekend! I was amazed with how many people were there and how pumped they were! Their excitement made me more excited! I am pumped!

I learned how to be a better sales person. I think I have gained confidence. I saw these women that were able to have the confidence and shine. I thought, so can I. I have my goals. My team leader was recognized for top 10 team sales in the southeast region. It was pretty cool. One of the girls on my team was recognized for top 10 personal sales in the southeast region. I was so proud of her! It was a great weekend!

Now onto the new Spring/Summer line! All I can say is YUM! We tried about half of the new line. Every porduct was great! Spicy...sweet...refreshing...

That's all you get! If you are going to Kathi's cabin I might just bring a catalog with me! I only have three products so far from the new line, I want every product!

Of course I forgot to bring a camera! The girls are supposed to e-mail me the pictures. When they do I will post them.

Tastefully Simple Conference

Tomorrow I am going to my first Tastefully Simple Conference. The conference is tomorrow and Saturday in Charlotte. I'm excited. I received the new Spring/Summer catalog today in the mail. YUM! There are so many new products. They all look delicious! I get to taste all of the new products this weekend! I'm looking forward to learning new business techniques. I am also looking forward to becoming closer to the other consultants on my team. I know I need to challenge myself on selling more products. My family has enjoyed eating a variety of the products. I am hoping to be motivated to go into the community and sell more products. If anyone is interested in hosting a party, feel free to contact me.

Food for thought: One of my favorite products is Bacon Bacon. I have used this product in a variety of dishes. I would like to share with you a recipe from my cousin Jill.

Bacon Bacon Potato Salad
Potatoes - cut and cooked
Onions - diced
Mayo and sour cream
Bacon Bacon 1 - 2 tsp.
Jill said that she and David loved this and will continue making Potato Salad this way!
I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Sunday

Today was very special for me. I was able to go to lunch with my mom and Kelly. This is something we haven't done in a long time. It was nice to go and just talk. We didn't talk about work, school, or anything stressful. It was awesome! We reminisced about past times. It was very relaxing. It was nice just being the girls. My dad was hiking, which he was very excited about! After lunch mom and I went to Walmart, I actually didn't need anything. We came home and I spent the rest of the afternoon on homework. Kelly came over around 5. We spent time together and played the card game Golf. After she left I spent more time on homework. I was working on Medical Terminology on our main computer. My dad was on the back up computer playing spider solitaire. The learning modules I have to do have sound with them. I was clicking on the words that said the term out loud. My dad would repeat the word also. It was amusing, I guess you had to be there. He was learning right along with me. I told him by the end of this semester he would know a lot of medical terms.

Even though I spent most of the day doing homework, it was awesome to be able to spend the much needed time with my family. I look forward to days like this and can't wait until the next time!

Visiting the Meyer Center

I visited the Meyer Center on Tuesday. It was so wonderful to see the kids and staff. The hugs from the kids made my day! I hadn't seen one of the little boys from my class since I had left. He was sooo excited to see me. When we were walking back from the playground he asked me if I was going to stay there forever. Melt my heart! I looked back at Cindy and just smiled. It was almost like he couldn't believe that I was there. It amazes me how simplistic these guys are.

I took some pictures. I am going to attempt to post them!

Giants Win!

I have to say that I am happy that the Giants won. I'm not a big football fan, but the Giants deserved to win. They played the game well. One of the best parts of the Super Bowl are the commercials. I liked the Budweiser commercial with the dalmatian and clydesdale horse. I thought that it was real cute. It amazes me how much money is spent on the commercials.

Kelly came over to spend Super Bowl with us. We played card games before the game. We also ate lots of good food! We had a nice time together as a family. I love when we spend time together. We always have a good time and many laughs. We act crazy but it is so much fun.

I hope everyone enjoyed the Super Bowl! Now on to a busy week! Have a great Monday!

Today's workout

I work out at Peak Fitness. I absolutly love it! I never would have thought that I would feel comfortable working out at a co-ed fitness center. The people there are so nice. The staff is great! In the beginnning of January I started going back to the gym. I go five days a week for two hours.

Today I talked to one of the personal trainers, Kenya. Let me start off by saying Kenya is an awesome trainer! He will get your butt in shape! I wanted some advice on what I could do different in my workout. When I told him that I worked out for two hours he said that I was there way to long. He said that intensity and frequency are the most important. He told me that a good workout is one that you are exhausted after 45 minutes, which means there is great intensity. I told him what my problem areas were and what my goals were. We are going to talk on Monday afternoon. During my workout I focused on my weights. I pushed myself. I tried to do more reps. I succeeded. I am pumped for Monday!
