My Grampy

Here is the cutest, sweetest man in the world! This is my Grampy! We have a special bond. Besides being the youngest grandchild, we share a birthday! Yup, I was born on my Grampy's birthday! I remember hearing the stories of the day I was born. My grandparents were visiting for Gramp's birthday. It was in the morning and my mom went into labor. My dad just sat there and drank his orange juice. My Grammy looked at my dad and told him to get moving. She couldn't believe he was just sitting there! My parents left for the hospital. When my Grampy came down for breakfast my Grammy told him that my mom was in labor. He got a grin on his face and said "It's my birthday!"
I have so many wonderful memories of spending time with him. I remember when my grandparents would come and visit us in the summer, when I lived in New York. We had a pool and we loved swimming with Grampy! He would come out of the house and say "The Grandfather is here!" We would squeal with excitement! We would rough house with him and he kept right up with us! I have no idea how.
I love hearing my Grampy's stories. He was in World War II. He tells us stories of the war, growing up in the '30s and '40s, how he and my Grammy met and the fact he only knew her for three months before he proposed!
My Grampy will be 84 in April! He is still going strong. He just got back from a cruise in Hawaii. He has now been to all 50 states! Hawaii was his last state. I can't wait to see him. He should be visiting us in April. I treasure every moment I get to spend with him. He is an amazing, strong man and I love him very much!

How neat to see pictures of your grandpa. You've talked a lot about him over the years. You really are blessed!
